Mom and Cassie flew in late last night. They were supposed to arrive around 10:30pm but because of mechanical problems in Denver, they didn't arrive until closer to midnight. That was 2am Iowa time, so you can imagine how tired they were.

This morning we woke up and went to visit my cousins, Ed and Kathy. They are my cousins, but they are much closer to my mom's age than to mine because of the whole birth order thing. :-) It was nice to sit down and talk with them for awhile. They had a beautiful home. Cassie mentioned, later, that we should have taken pictures of it because it was so nice.

We left Ed and Kathy's place around noon and started back North. We passed Sacrimento and headed up the I5 to Grant's Pass, Oregon. It was a beautiful drive! We stopped at Shasta Lake and took pictures. Mount Shasta even had snow on the top! The drive through the mountain forest was absolutely beautiful. Even while driving, I was able to enjoy the amazing scenery. It was about a 6 hour drive, I believe. (I don't remember exactly.)
